Phoenician Tuna Amphorae Infographics


The infographic explains how Phoenician amphorae were produced for the salted tuna trade. In the 5th century BC, the salted tuna industry in the city of Gadir gave rise to a highly specialized economy. The pottery, almadraba fishing, and salting trades were so specialized that the entire population worked in these and other related industries.
